There’s a chance Cowboys fans might get a glimpse of Brian Waters for the first time on Sunday, against the Chiefs in Kansas City, according to owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
Jones told the New School Show on 105.3-FM The Fan on Tuesday that the team has been highly impressed by Waters’ progress in the week since they signed him.
“Waters was actually amazing that he was able to move,” Jones said, via ESPN Dallas. “He had a lot of the football things that you have to do, apart from just his endurance. So I think there's a chance he could play some too.”
The eight-time Pro Bowl selection was inactive for the season opener. Dallas trotted out Ronald Leary and Mackenzy Bernadeau at the guard spots in that game, but Waters will make a serious push for some playing time, once he’s ready.
“We believe he is getting closer," head coach Jason Garrett said. “He did a good job last week. He got better and better each and every day. He’ll keep working hard and hopefully we will get him back here soon enough.”
