UT Austin Unveils New Statue of Football Team's First Black Letterman

The University of Texas unveiled a statue Friday, honoring the football team’s first Black letterman. Julius Whittier won a national championship with the team in 1970, then went on to graduate law school and work as a prosecutor in the Dallas County DA’s office. It’s part of a push towards racial inclusivity on campus, pushed for largely by student-athletes.
