Three Phases: Cowboys-Colts

Every week, we'll grade the Cowboys on the three phases of the weekend's game.

Offense: A+

Duh. The Cowboys led 28-0 at halftime and 35-0 going into the fourth quarter. It was a thing of beauty. Tony Romo had two incompletions, four touchdown passes, and Jason Witten had his best game in years. Oh, and Dez Bryant was Dez Bryant, and Terrance Williams made a reappearance with two touchdown catches. It was really beautiful.

Defense: A+

You have to imagine defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli was steaming hot when the Cowboys' bid at a shutout ended with 5:24 remaining in the game, but that's what coaches do. As observers, we can all be thrilled with the effort of a unit that thoroughly dominated arguably the best quarterback in the game and allowed ONE rushing yard. The Cowboys had 17 first downs at one point in the game, and the Colts had ONE. It was impressive.

There was a special teams blown coverage on the Colts' early faked punt attempt, but thanks to a drop it didn't hurt the Cowboys. Also, Dan Bailey missed his only field goal attempt, which is a shocker.
