Tens of thousands of fans are flocking to the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Las Colinas for the HP Byron Nelson golf tournaments this week.
Fans at the HP Byron Nelson Championship say golfer Phil Mickelson is the highlight of the event.
Ken Thornton said he drove an hour and a half and arrived at the TPC Four Seasons Resort by 7 a.m. so he could get a glimpse of his favorite golfer.
"Just a great guy, great character, great player -- and he's a lefty, same as myself," he said.
Ten-year-old Jacob Rubenstein said he takes notes from the best.
"I like to play golf a lot, and seeing the professionals sort of gives me a good view to see how I can get better," he said.
Mickelson said he was appreciates the support.
"It is really fun to come back to the Dallas area," he said. "The people are terrific and very sports-minded. I mean, seeing people out at the Rangers game -- I mean, 48,000 people was really cool -- and to see the turnout here at the Byron Nelson Classic is pretty special too."

Thousands of fans took refuge inside large white tents as the day heated up. In the HP Technology Zone, kids of all ages could play Angry Birds on a giant touchscreen.
"I've never seen that before," 6-year-old Julian Sheffield said. "It's like the coolest thing ever."
Visitors could also take home a souvenir picture by poising in front of a blue screen and getting a shot on a virtual golf course.
