Rangers Move Yu Up in Rotation

Basically every time Yu Darvish has pitched this season, with the exception of once, he's been everything the Texas Rangers expect to get from their ace, who has established himself as one of the top starting pitchers in the game.

Darvish has missed two starts this year due to neck stiffness — his scheduled Opening Day start and a start last week in Minnesota. Now, the Rangers might be trying to recoup those two missed starts and get him his 32 or 33 starts this season, assuming there are no further injury issues.

"We’re just trying to keep him on his schedule right now,” manager Ron Washington told reporters. “We get another off day, we might just give him the extra day.”

The Rangers have reset their pitching rotation with their off-day on Monday, moving Darvish to a Friday start against Cleveland and giving Nick Tepesch an extra day of rest, meaning he will pitch on Saturday against the Indians.
