In a weekly post, we'll talk about where teams in the NFC East sit after each weekend of play.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) — The Eagles had a big comeback win on the road over Indianapolis in a hostile environment on Monday night to further cement their position atop the NFC East — both on paper and in our minds. They're by no means world-beaters, but in a very average division, they are without question the cream of the crop.
2. Dallas Cowboys (1-1) — One thing has been consistent through the Cowboys' first two games. DeMarco Murray has run wild on San Francisco and Tennessee behind what has proven to be a pretty great run-blocking line made up of three recent first-round picks. One thing that wasn't consistent? Tony Romo being called upon to lead the offensive gameplan. On Sunday in Nashville, he was more of a facilitator than an integral part of the offense, and things worked out well. If the Cowboys can continue playing that way and keeping the ball on the ground, it'll continue to mask a defense that appeared to be awful and has since proven to be serviceable.
3. Washington Redskins (1-1) — Robert Griffin III gets hurt, his backup comes into the game and leads the Redskins to a resounding win. That's what happened on Sunday. They still have big issues, but it seems like Kirk Cousins might be a better answer at quarterback than RG3, and the results on the field show that through two games — behind one apiece.
4. New York Giants (0-2) — The Giants can't score points, and their defense can't stop people from scoring. Eli Manning hasn't been successful and the Giants haven't really been in a game yet. It looks to be a really bad season on the horizon for the G-men, which probably means they'll come back and win the Super Bowl in 2015.
