Potential Targets: Darren Oliver

Target: Darren Oliver, LHP

Type of move: Trade

2012 stats: 3-4, 2.06 ERA, 56 2/3 innings, 52 strikeouts, 15 walks

Oliver could be back in Texas for his fourth stint with the Rangers if things go his way. You see, the 42-year-old lefty who has remarkably seen his ERA drop in each of the past five seasons is reportedly a little miffed with his current club, the Toronto Blue Jays. According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, Oliver wants the Blue Jays to either restructure his deal for 2013, which is currently worth $3 million or trade him to Texas, a place he clearly loves. If not, he says he might retire.

With all the money the Blue Jays forked over this offseason, it's hard to imagine they would pay him much more than what his current deal and might force him to play his hand. If that could mean a trade to Texas to get rid of a disgruntled player, that'd be a beautiful thing for the Rangers who would get a quality lefty arm for the bullpen.
