Fans Gear Up for Game 1

Shoppers are flocking to North Texas stores selling Texas Rangers gear, and they’re buying the merchandise as fast as it comes in.

The Texas Rangers store in Dallas is seeing a mob of shoppers gearing up for the World Series.

Each shopper may be looking for something different, but all are looking for Texas Rangers gear.

Officials with the store said shoppers have been buying the merchandise as quickly as it came in since the Rangers earned their second consecutive American League pennant Saturday night.

For Travis Blackburn of Plano, it had to be a Mike Napoli jersey in gray. For Toya Watkins of Dallas, a Nelson Cruz jersey.

“It’s because he hit that grand slam!” said Watkins.

There’s also a shopper who is looking for a T-shirt, a hat, a sweatshirt, one for each relative.

Either way, the rush is on to prepare for the first World Series game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday in Arlington.
