Dallas Cowboys' first round pick Dez Bryant was sent home from team workouts at Valley Ranch on Tuesday as the result of an upset stomach, multiple sources have reported.
Bryant was apparently afflicted with food poisoning after eating dinner Monday night. Per an unnamed source, the rookie receiver was found "dehydrated and weak" on Tuesday by trainers who summarily sent Bryant home.
Obviously, Bryant remained at practice long enough to impress the pants off fellow receiver Roy Williams. (Not literally, we hope.) This isn't really remarkable, as everyone at Valley Ranch, with the possible exception of Tony Romo, has been lavishing praise on Bryant since he arrived.
But considering the source, well, it's kind of remarkable.
"The dude is scary. The dude is good and he doesn't even know it yet. Once the light bulb goes on he will probably be the best in the league.
"He's a man among boys. He's got big hands. Real big hands. When he shakes my hand, his fingers come up to my elbows.''
Bryant is expected back at practice on Wednesday.
