Burleson: “Sorry Dez,” But You're No Megatron

Dez Bryant said Monday that he believes he can do everything the Lions' Calvin Johnson can do

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant asserted earlier this week that he doesn’t believe the Lions’ Calvin “Megatron” Johnson can do anything he can’t. Some people bristled at this remark, and read it as Bryant saying he’s just as good as Johnson--and apparently, Johnson’s teammate Nate Burleson is one of those guys.

On Tuesday, Burleson said that he knows Johnson, and that Bryant is no Johnson.

“Listen, I like Dez," Burleson said, per ESPN Dallas. "I think he's one of the best receivers in the game right now. Very talented, fast, big, strong--he possesses all the tools to possibly be as good as Calvin. But he's not Calvin Johnson. No way, no how. Sorry Dez. Keep it real.”

The comparison between the two receivers has been a talking point through the week thus far, and it looks like it’s going to stay that way up until noon on Sunday. But Lions head coach Jim Schwartz doesn’t want to get into the discussion, beyond just saying they’re among the best.

"[Bryant] is one of the best receivers in the NFL, as is Calvin, and I think that's about the only comparison that you need to make between those two guys," Schwartz said. “Every player is different. Every player has things that they do well and things they do well within the scheme and things like that. We're going to have our hands full getting Dez Bryant stopped, and I'm sure Dallas is working really hard to find a way to get Calvin stopped."
