Man Steals Laptop, Asks Victim for Password: Fort Worth Police

Fort Worth police have identified the person who stole a man's laptop in Fort Worth and tried to sell it back to him.

Police said the man's vehicle was broken into Tuesday while it was parked outside his home in the 4500 block of Buffalo Bend Place. His laptop and bag containing business cards was stolen.

The next day, Justin Reynolds tried to sell the laptop to a pawn shop in the 4000 block of East Lancaster Avenue. Police said the transaction was denied when he could not unlock the laptop.

The 26-year-old man then left the pawn shop in a black Chevy Malibu with a spoiler and black rims.

About 30 minutes later, police said the victim received a text message asking for the laptop's password. The victim refused, but offered to buy the laptop back for $150.

Reynolds agreed to meet on Brentwood Stair Road, but then all communication stopped.

He was taken into custody for allegedly stealing the laptop, failure to ID, and evading arrest. Reynolds also had a parole warrant.

Police initially identified a woman as a person of interest in the case, but they later indicated that she was not longer a suspect since she was not involved.
