Woman, Dog Killed in Northeast Dallas House Fire

A woman and dog have died as a result of a fire Monday afternoon in a two-story home in Northeast Dallas.

A woman and dog have died as a result of a fire Monday afternoon in a two-story home in Northeast Dallas.

The fire was reported just before 3 p.m. in the 9300 block of Moss Circle Drive.

Firefighters arriving at the scene said they could see smoke coming from the windows of the home, and after they made entry the woman's body was found in an upstairs bedroom.

First responders began CPR and transported her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators are working to determine a cause of the fire, but officials said it appeared to have started in the kitchen area.

The woman's cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office.
