Woman Accused in Murder and Castrating Case Testifies

A North Texas woman accused by prosecutors of stabbing a man 130 times and then castrating him inside a Dallas hotel room tells jurors at her trial that she was defending herself after being sexually assaulted.

Cristal Paulette Richardson is charged with murder in the April 2012 death of Cedric Lamont Owens.

The Dallas Morning News reports Richardson told jurors on Friday that she can't remember everything that happened on the night of the killing. But she testified that Owens told her he was going to kill her and she felt her life was in danger.

But prosecutors say Richardson's faulty memory is just her way of only telling jurors facts that help her version of events.

Richardson faces up to life in prison if convicted.
