Weekend Construction Alerts

Construction this weekend may put a damper on your plans. NBC 5’s Samantha Davies tells you what to expect and what to avoid.

There is a lot of construction scheduled to go on this weekend across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

All construction is weather-permitting and storms are still expected, mainly on Saturday. There may be a brief shower early in the day, but most of the storms will hit during the afternoon and evening. There is a 70 percent chance for storms with an enhanced risk for severe weather.

Here are the top three construction zones to watch out for this weekend:

Dallas

The LBJ Express project will be replacing HOV signs. Rolling closures on Interstate 635 were scheduled to begin Friday night at 9 p.m. and continue through early Saturday. Expect delays. 21 signs will be replaced.

Fort Worth

Interstate 35W will be closing in both directions between Western Center Boulevard to US 81/287. This will take place during the day on Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. - 9p.m. both days.

Arlington

Interstate 30 eastbound main lanes will be closing between Ballpark Way and Texas 360. This closure will take place from midnight through noon on Saturday.
