Police in Garland hope a neighbor's video recordings can help solve the murder of an elderly woman who lived alone.
Janet Vanderslice, 71, was found stabbed to death Saturday around 6 p.m. in the Crystal Lake neighborhood near Bobtown Road and Interstate 30.
While police have no confirmed motive or suspects, a nearby resident's video recordings could help police.
"I hope that they find who is responsible for her death," said neighbor Deborah Topps Greer.
Greer has several cameras positioned around her house, and surveillance video recorded around the time of Vanderslice's death appeared to show two people in a car near the front of Vanderslice's home, police said.
They are seen apparently going around to the back of the house and then coming out in front.
"We will just have to wait and see if they can pull anything out of the video," said Vanderslice's brother, Sam Letzring.

Police said nothing appears to be missing from the woman's home, and neighbors told NBC 5 she was a nice woman who kept to herself.
"It is just unbelievable something like this would happen in our sleepy little neighborhood," said neighbor Judy Dunn.
