UNT QB Mason Fine is the Best QB in Texas at 5 Feet 10 Inches Tall

North Texas’ Mason Fine threw for 444 yards and three touchdowns in the Mean Green’s season-opening win against SMU, but the quarterback downplayed any individual attention when he talked to NBC 5’s Newy Scruggs.

North Texas football is 3-0. After dusting off Arkansas 44-17, the Mean Green swept the Conference USA awards.

That included quarterback Mason Fine, who was the C-USA offensive player of the week. The junior came on my NBC Sports Radio show and told me how he was asked to be a walk on at Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, because of his height.

Fine is listed on the Mean Green roster at 5-foot-11. But is he? His answer is good stuff.

Can the Mean Green run the table and go undefeated? Listen here for the answer.
