Thieves Target Cell Phone Stores in Collin County, Rowlett: Police

A group of burglars targeting North Texas cell phone stores may have struck again. They were caught on camera in a Plano store, and now police in Rowlett are investigating another break-in.

Plano police are looking for a crew of thieves caught on camera burglarizing a Sprint store near the Collin Creek Mall.

Police believe the team is tied to three other similar crimes in Lewisville, Mesquite and Irving. In all four cases, Sprint stores were targeted.

The surveillance video shows the group looking frantic and rushed, grabbing cell phones with their bare hands. The burglars enter the store by smashing the front glass.

Officers believe all the members of the team are between 16 and 20-years-old. One may be female.

A possible getaway vehicle is described as a newer model red door car with a sunroof.

Tipsters can be anonymous and should contact the Plano Police Department.

Rowlett Police are asking for tips in a crime similar to several burglaries targeting Sprint stores.

In the Rowlett incident, the front door of the store was smashed in around 1:20 a.m. on Monday.

A team of burglars entered the store and started grabbing merchandise, like tester cell phones.

Police are working to see if the crime is connected to other Sprint store burglaries in Plano, Lewisville, Mesquite and Irving.
