A man is dead and two customers suffered non-life-threatening injuries during an attempted holdup of a fast-food restaurant in the Houston suburb of The Woodlands.
Witnesses told police the man went into the Raising Cane's restaurant 30 miles north of Houston at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, held the clerk at gun point and demanded cash.
A uniformed Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy was working as security for the restaurant ran over and told the man to drop the weapon. The man then pointed the gun at the deputy, who shot the man several times.
The man was pronounced dead inside the restaurant.
No identities have been released.
