Strong Storm Hits Residents Near Eagle Mountain Lake

Residents of parts of North Texas say they feel lucky after Thursday night storms damaged property.

Residents in Azle experienced heavy rain and strong wind during storms Thursday night.

Homes along the Eagle Mountain Lake peninsula were hit the hardest. Several trees were uprooted and fell onto homes and decks.

Some homeowners were left with roof damage.

“This was the worst storm we have ever witnessed,” resident Raul Moreno said. “The storm came in around 9 p.m. and continued to pound us. The water was high; we could feel the wind, it had to be about 50 to 60 mph."

No injuries were reported.
