Protesters March Outside Trump Rally in Dallas

While as many as 15,000 people listened to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Monday inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, several hundred protesters gathered in a public space outside a Dallas church, which did not endorse or sponsor the event, before marching to the arena to protest the candidate’s rally.

While as many as 15,000 people listened to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Monday inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, several hundred more marched outside in protest.

Dallas police placed barriers outside the arena, keeping Trump supporters on one side and protesters on the other, following a march organized by the North Texas chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens.

There were no disturbances and no reports of arrests at what was promoted as a "Dump Trump" rally.

Still, the night ended with passionate sides clashing following Trump's rally at the AAC. Frustrated protesters stood outside chanting anti-Trump slogans.

"Fuera Trump," some said in Spanish, roughly translated to "Out with Trump." Their frustration was mainly with Trump's stance on immigration.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump brought his campaign to the nation’s largest red state Monday for a rally in downtown Dallas.

"It makes me angry," said Gabriela Gandara. "My family is from Mexico and it really makes me upset to hear people say stuff like that."

A short clash lasted several minutes as people cleared Victory Plaza, but there was nothing violent. At one point police on horseback worked their way through the crowd.

Supporters for Trump say their loyalty to the presidential hopeful only grew stronger after Monday's rally.

"I truly believe he has a proven track record as a business person and I know that he can pull it off as far as business," said Stephanie Inge. "He doesn't have people lining his pockets making him do things he did not promise."
