Parking Tight in Bishop Arts District

Largest French festival in North Texas coming to Dallas on Sunday

As business booms in Dallas’ Bishop Arts District, parking is now a major concern.

Expect parking in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas to be even tighter on Sunday night.

Bastille on Bishop, the largest French festival in North Texas, begins at 6 p.m. Sunday.

It can already be tough to find parking in the Bishop Arts area. It has an ample supply of bars, restaurants and shops, but lacks parking spots.

Business owners say that, to their knowledge, there are no plans in the works to help alleviate congestion. The congestion is a double-edged sword, because it means their stores have a constant flow of people, they say.

The fourth annual Bastille on the Bishop will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday in the Bishop Arts District, which is located in the 400 and 500 blocks of Bishop Street between Seventh and Melba streets.
