Operation Kindess to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Operation Kindness, the first and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas, will celebrate its 40th year anniversary with its annual “Alumni” celebration and open house on Saturday, June 18 for the pets adopted from the shelter, their new families, and the public.

The crowning jewel of the festivities will be the world’s largest cake for dogs created by Catering by Larry and sponsored by Blue Buffalo. The 170-pound cake will be made of Blue Buffalo dog food, mashed potato, and sweet potato icing, complete with Blue Buffalo treats on top for good measure.

Furry guests will be able to enjoy doggie splash pools, canine massages, “pup”sicles, and free bandanas. Their human friends can munch on hot dogs and veggie burgers from the grill while taking tours of the Operation Kindness campus.

The event will run from 10:30am to 1pm on June 18 at the Operation Kindness Campus, located at 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton.

Since its inception in 1976, Operation Kindness has saved over 80,000 animals and continues to assist more than 5,000 cats and dogs annually.
