North Texas Girl Honored With ‘Child Hero Award'
A North Texas girl recently proved you don’t have to be a grown-up to be a hero. Tarrant County 911 and the Irving Police Department surprised 10-year-old Violet Gonzalez Thursday night with a parade in her honor. They even presented her with the “Child Hero Award.” Last December, Violet called 911 to get help for a little boy who was knocked unconscious, after running into a pole. Police and dispatchers wanted to thank Violet and her mom for teaching the importance of knowing when to dial 911.
