A cold front will increase storm chances across North Texas

Live

Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms moved into North Texas early Monday morning, bringing heavy flooding rain and gusting winds, and more storms are expected on Memorial Day.

A Flood Watch is in effect for northern, eastern and central North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth, until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Expect rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches with some areas up to 6 inches.

Some of these storms could turn severe, bringing large hail and damaging winds. Those with outdoor plans will need to be weather aware.

Our cold front will stall over Central Texas, close enough to keep isolated rain chances in the forecast through Thursday. Otherwise, a drying and warming trend into the weekend.
