DeSoto police say a man drove his Chevy Tahoe SUV into his house, then got out and stabbed a woman who lived with him.

Police were called to 159 Faircrest around 5 a.m., DeSoto Police Cpl. Melissa Franks said.

The woman had multiple stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital with what's believed to be non-life threatening injuries, Franks said.

The man, 39-year-old Sautuwaira Thomas, is related to the woman and was arrested at the scene without incident. He's been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence.

A Chevy Tahoe remains completely inside the home's living room until police can get the proper warrant to go inside the house.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
