Fort Worth police are asking for help identifying the person who attempted to kidnap a woman Sunday morning just west of downtown.
The incident happened in the 1400 block of W. 5th Street at approximately 11:35 a.m., according to police.
The 28-year-old victim was jogging when she was approached by a man wearing a dark purple shirt and blue jeans, police said.
The man threatened the woman with a black pistol and attempted to physically force her to go with him, according to a news release.
The victim screamed and drew the attention of witnesses who were walking by a nearby bank drive-thru area, police said, which caused the man to leave the victim and walk away.
Police have described the man as black, about 25- to 30-years-old, between 5 feet 11 inches tall to 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 150 to 160 pounds.
If you have any information about the man, please contact police.
