Fire Extinguished at Garland Scrap Yard Business

Garland firefighters have extinguished a fire at a scrap metal business Wednesday near Forest Lane.[[296792731,L]]

The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Forest Lane and Shepherd Drive.

The fire originated in a pile of scrap metal, however, the cause of the fire is unknown. A tall plume of thick, black smoke was visible for several miles.
