Joshua Teen Fights To Walk Again

Community supports Joshua teen injured in wreck

Two months ago, Jaci Mitchell was an award-winning 16 year-old student athlete. Like most teens, she enjoyed prom and hanging out with friends.

But on June 6, Mitchell was involved in a car accident that left her quadriplegic. Now, the former softball player is unable to fully use her hands or walk.

Despite severing her vertebrae and injuring her neck, Jaci has been able to regain usage of parts of her body. Now, she's determined to get back the use of her fingers and one day walk again.

The support of her home community in Joshua, plus the undying support from her family has pushed Jaci's competitive spirit to overcome her injuries.

Tonight, the community is hosting a fundraiser at Joshua High School to support Jaci and her family. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and will last until 11 p.m.

Donations to help Jaci Mitchell and her family can be made to Wells Fargo bank in her name.
