Fatal Crash Involving 18-Wheeler, Trash Truck, Dump Truck in Arlington: Fire Department

Southbound Collins Street closed while crash investigated

One person is dead and another is injured after a tractor-trailer and trash truck collided on June 21 in North Arlington.

A fatal crash between a dump truck, tractor-trailer and trash truck has closed the southbound lanes of North Collins Street in North Arlington Tuesday morning, fire department officials say. A third vehicle may have been involved.

The Arlington Police Department said the crash occurred on the corner of North Collins and Moiser Valley Road in Arlington at about 11:10 a.m. [[383820401,c]]

Police said a Duncan Disposal trash truck was traveling southbound on Collins, making a turn to go westbound onto Moiser Valley Road. The Duncan Disposal truck struck an 18 wheeler and a dump truck while turning, causing the trash truck to flip over and land on its side, according to police.

The Arlington Police Department confirmed the driver of the Duncan Disposal vehicle died on the scene while the dump truck driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the 18 wheeler was not injured.

Further details, including the identities of those involved in the crash, have not been released. Police are still investigating the events that led up to the crash. No other injuries have been reported.

The southbound lanes of Collins Street is closed while the scene is investigated and cleared, police said. Moiser Valley Road is also closed at the intersection.
