Germany Polar Bear Cub

A four month-old polar bear cub made her public debut in Germany and there were lots of ahhs and oohs from zoo visitors. The little girl cub is named Nanook and she kept close to her mother. She took a little swim, supervised by her mom, and later returned to her enclosure. And in Berlin, Europe’s oldest gorilla celebrated her 61st birthday. She enjoyed a birthday cake made of rice, cheese curds, fruits and vegetables. Legend has it that Fatou was brought to Marseille by a French soldier who picked her up as a baby in West Africa. Later he forgot about her in a bar. Eventually someone took her to authorities and she ended up at the Berlin Zoo.
