FWPD Attends High School Graduation of Fallen Officer's Daughter

When the daughter of fallen Fort Worth police officer Dwayne Freeto graduated from high school in early June, ten fellow officers stepped up to help her celebrate her special day.

In December 2006, Fort Worth police officer Dwayne Freeto was killed when a drunk driver slammed into his police cruiser. Freeto was helping a woman with a flat tire on Interstate 35W.

More than nine and a half years later, Freeto's daughter graduated from high school on June 3, with his coworkers by her side.

Texas lawmakers passed the Darren Medlin and Dwayne Freeto Act in 2007. The measure increased penalties for intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.
