FW Police Arrest Driver After Chase, Crash

Fort Worth police officials say they arrested a man suspected of driving while intoxicated after a chase led to a crash, injuring three people Tuesday morning.

Fort Worth police said three people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck after a chase with a man suspected of driving while intoxicated early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a call about a vehicle speeding back and forth near the 3100 block of Western Center Boulevard at about 1:13 a.m. Police said they tried to pull a truck over, but the driver failed to yield.

Two police cruisers pursued for a few minutes until the truck rear-ended another vehicle in the 4700 block of Western Center Boulevard. One of the patrol vehicles then hit the truck.

The driver of the truck was taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police said they will arrest him for driving while intoxicated and evading arrest.

Medstar officials said they transported one of the officers to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital and another civilian driver to John Peter Smith Hospital with minor injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
