Fire Guts Central Arlington Home

Fire departments across North Texas are urging everyone to check their smoke detectors. It’s the first line of defense in fire prevention.

A house that caught fire Tuesday evening in Arlington may have not had working smoke detectors, investigators say.

The fire was reported at about 4 p.m. on the 2600 block of South Fielder Road.

David Tyler, spokesman for the Arlington Fire Department, said four adults safely escaped the home without injuries.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
