Authorities say a driver is in custody after crashing a pickup truck into the security gate at the Dallas County Jail early Tuesday.

Dallas County Sheriff's deputies said the driver crashed a pickup truck into the Lew Sterrett Justice Center at about 1 a.m.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Everett Terry Clayton, was taken into custody and charged with criminal mischief.
Deputies have not said why the man drove into the gate.
The truck was removed and the hole that remained is being guarded by Dallas police until it is fixed.
