DFW Airport Adds Waiting Area

Airport also adds additional parking, yoga studio and walking path

In an effort to streamline holiday travel, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has opened a new waiting area near Terminal E where drivers can wait to pickup passengers arriving at the airport.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is opening a new waiting area to ease congestion just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

Starting on Thanksgiving Day, the airport is opening a waiting area at Terminal E. Signs will direct drivers to the area, which will be located on the terminal's infield parking section.

DFW Airport is also adding 1,100 parking spaces in the express north parking lot.

"This is covered parking," airport spokesman David Magana said. "It's got shuttle service to and from your car, a free bottle of water and a free newspaper."

Travelers will also enjoy several new features, including a yoga studio and walking path.

The airport expects more than two million travelers to pass through the airport during the Thanksgiving holiday.

“Travelers are coming back," Magana said. "It's a great sign for our regional economy that people are flying a little bit more than last year."

DFW Airport recommends that holiday travelers leave early, arrive at least two and a half hours before their scheduled departure time, remember the 3-1-1 rule for liquids and travel light.
