Dallas Real Estate Agent Arrested in '86 Killing

Fort Worth police arrested a 63-year-old Dallas real estate agent Wednesday in connection with the 1986 attempted sexual assault and fatal shooting of a Fort Worth mother.

Investigators said a law enforcement database matched Jay Thayer William's fingerprints to those found on duct tape that was wrapped around Sandra Leah Martin. Thayer's fingerprint was entered into the database from an arrest on an unrelated charge in Las Vegas in May of 1981.

Martin's husband discovered her body inside the master bedroom of their home in the 6800 block of Amber Drive on Sept. 22, 1986.  The Martin's two children were unharmed, the 2-year-old daughter was found in another room while their 5-year-old son was in the backyard.

Their house was up for sale by owner at the time of the slaying and police said her killer possibly posed as a potential buyer.

Williams, an agent with William Davis Realty, was arrested on a capital murder warrant at his home in the 5700 block of Brushy Creek Trail in Collin County, the Star Telegram reported.
