Dallas Man Gets 25 Years in Hammer Killing

A 21-year-old Dallas man who killed his friend with a hammer after a drug binge has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

A jury found Naing Myo Swe guilty of murder and sentenced him Tuesday in the 2014 beating death of 19-year-old Anthwan Clinton.

Swe testified that on the day of the slaying he, Clinton and two other friends were smoking K2 and PCP at Swe's apartment and were "like zombies." He testified Clinton become violent and seemed "possessed."

Swe testified that Clinton had tried to sexually assault him before he swung at the teen with a hammer and "kept hitting" his head.

Defense attorney Bruce Anton says when Swe completes his sentence he'll probably be deported to his home country of Myanmar because he's in the U.S. illegally.
