Car Crash Throws Pedicure Chair With Customer Into Neighboring Salon

Woman sent to hospital after driver slams into crowded nail salon at Inwood Village

A sport utility vehicle crashed through a Dallas nail salon, injuring a pedicure customer whose chair was thrown into a neighboring salon.

The driver of a BMW sport utility vehicle smashed through the glass storefront of a Dallas nail salon before coming to a stop inside a neighboring hair salon.

The impact of the crash sent a pedicure chair at the Nailery -- and the customer in it -- flying into Supercuts.

The customer was taken to the hospital, but is expected to recover.

Karla Martinez-Hale, the Supercuts manager, took several photos of the aftermath.

"It's amazing that someone didn't die," she said.

Five people were inside Martinez-Hale's salon at the time of the crash, including two little girls. As many as 10 people were in the Nailery.

"Someone got hurt to the point they had to go to the hospital -- yeah, we're upset," Martinez-Hale said.

Police said they believe the driver of the BMW X5 mistook the brake for the gas.

The Nailery posted an update on its Facebook page, asking people to pray for the customer who was taken to the hospital.

She sustained some cuts and bruises and is said to be traumatized by the ordeal.

So far, police have not filed any criminal charges in the incident.
