Authorities: 2 Shot, 1 Assaulted at Azle House Party

Authorities said they are investigating a double shooting and an assault that left three people severely injured in Azle Sunday morning.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said staff at an Azle hospital reported the injuries at 5:42 a.m. Azle police said the shooting happened at a home in the 400 block of Calhoun Bend Road near Farm-to-Market Road 730.

Parker County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division said there was a party at the home the night before where more than 50 people were drinking alcohol, including some that were younger than 21.

Sheriff's CID Sgt. Ricky Montgomery said the assault and shooting stemmed from an argument between several people at the party.

Investigators said a 19-year-old male was shot in his left arm and a 17-year-old in his right shoulder. Both teens are in fair but stable condition.

Police said a 24-year-old man was assaulted and is in serious condition after with injuries to his face and head.

Authorities said they have responded to several calls at the home where the incidents occurred, ranging from animal, narcotics and theft calls to aggravated robbery, shots heard and assaults.

"Given the nature of the current investigation and the amount of previous calls, special attention will be directed to this address as well as the case," Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said.
