The AMBER Alert was born in 1996 when local media teamed up with local police to develop an early warning system to find abducted children following the abduction and brutal murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, of Arlington.
A 14-year-old girl has been found after an AMBER Alert was issued Friday evening.
The Texas Department of Public Safety issued the AMBER Alert for the girl last seen in Richardson.

According to Carrollton Police, the girl had been missing since Friday, Feb. 28.
She was last seen around 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. near Old Denton Road between Trinity Mills Road and Frankford Road according to police.
