9th Quake Recorded in Irving Since October

The United States Geological Survey recorded another earthquake in Irving Tuesday, the ninth since Oct. 28.

Tuesday's temblor registered as a 2.7 magnitude quake that shook only mildly at about 9:36 a.m.

The epicenter was located around Loop 12 and Technology Boulevard, about 5 km under the surface.

The quake registered as a III on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale, which means the following according to the USGS: "Felt quite noticeably by persons indoors, especially on upper floors of buildings. Many people do not recognize it as an earthquake. Standing motor cars may rock slightly. Vibrations similar to the passing of a truck. Duration estimated."

There have been no reports of damage or injuries associated with Tuesday's earthquake.

The earthquake is the ninth registered in Irving and the tenth in North Texas since Oct. 28.  A Google map showing the quake locations is embedded below.
