What the COVID-19 Vaccine Approval in Children Could Mean for Parents

The FDA is expected to follow the recommendation of its advisory panel and authorize a COVID-19 vaccine for children. It would be the first COVID vaccine that could be given to children ages 5-11. Once the FDA authorizes the shots, the CDC will give its rubber stamp and shots could be administered as soon as next week. NBC 5’s Bianca Castro spoke with the CDC’s Director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, about what this would mean for parents.
