Many African Americans are preparing to celebrate Juneteenth. It’s an annual celebration marking June 19, 1865. That was the day many enslaved people in Texas learned they had been freed. In today’s community conversation, we talk with Award-winning culinary historian Michael Twitty about a presentation he’ll be making with the Fort Worth Library about southern food’s connection to Africa.
