Community Conversations: UNT Grads Launch Artist Auction

Some University of North Texas graduates are behind an effort launched on Juneteenth called the North Texas Artist Auction. The goal is to raise money for organizations supporting both racial justice and COVID-19 relief. In today’s Community Conversation, NBC 5’s Kristi Nelson spoke with Mariah Tyler, who helped organize the auction, and Desiree Espada, who is one of the artists involved. The two graduates discuss why they think art, with activism, is more important than ever.
