Last Standing Condo in Development Awaits Fate

A deal may be in the works between an Orange County, Florida land developer and a family who owns the townhouse. This video says it all, the townhouse is the only one standing on land that is being developed by a timeshare mogul. Decades ago, the property went into foreclosure. Westgate Resorts said they were able to buy every townhouse, except this one. Westgate says they made offers to the family for years before deciding to move on and literally build around it. Thursday, Orange County slapped a stop-work order on the townhouse, saying code enforcement is trying to decide whether the building should be condemned. One wall of the townhouse was damaged by the contractors. Westgate has offered to pay over $100,000 for the townhouse or fix the wall and build their luxury timeshares around it. The family says they have placed the decision in the hands of their 81 year-old mother.
