Family Encounters and Rescues Python While on Hike

An Iowa family recently made a surprising discovery while out hiking. They found a ball python along the Liberty Trail in Independence. The snake is native to Africa, and wildlife officials think it may have been someone’s pet at one point. The python is now being treated at an animal sanctuary.
