Baby Panda in Japan Needs Name

The naming of a baby panda at a zoo in Tokyo has attracted record interest from the public. People have submitted more than 320,000 proposals for the baby’s name. The animal was born at Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo in June. Officials say they received 322,581 online and mail suggestions over a two-week period. Six members of a selection committee have been chosen to oversee the choice of a name.
