Southwest, Mechanics Reach Agreement

Southwest Airlines said Thursday it had reached a tentative agreement with the mechanics union.

In a statement, the Dallas-based airline said the cost-neutral contract has "raises in exchange for work-rule improvements and contract flexibility." The agreement has a four-year term.

The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association's membership will vote on ratifying the contact in the upcoming weeks, the airline said.

The current agreement became amendable in August.
