What Becomes of All Those Fallen Trees and Other Debris From Sunday’s Storms?

The crews working around the clock to restore power to hundreds of thousands of Dallas residents after Sunday's violent storm must also deal with countless fallen branches and many uprooted trees.Jen Myers, an Oncor spokeswoman, called it a “monstrous storm” in terms of its damage to vegetation, estimating that 3% to 4% of vegetation in Dallas was affected.Dallas officials said hundreds of trees were downed, and they've received thousands of calls to collect storm debris.The city's sanitation services department has been working to clear debris from residential areas in the same way that it normally collects brush and bulk waste, Dallas spokesman Corbin Rubinson said.
