Train Spills Fuel, Catches Fire After Derailing in Fort Worth

A freight train derailed and spilled ethanol -- a highly flammable liquid -- into the streets Wednesday morning in Fort Worth.Fire crews responded around 12:40 a.m. to the spill in the 3200 block of Yuma Drive after a Union Pacific freight train ran off the tracks.Multiple train cars were damaged by fire, but no injuries were reported.The spill caused the evacuation of several homes on four nearby streets, officials said.A Fort Worth Fire Department vehicle caught fire after its tower camera came into contact with overhead power lines, according to KXAS-TV (Channel 5), but no one was injured.It is unclear if heavy storms in the area were a factor, officials said.  Continue reading...
